The Countach doesn't belong. IMO, just because its newer generations were given different names doesn't mean it was discontinued.

Also,

Fun fact: The 'Cabrio' was actually a variant of the mk3 Golf.

No shit, Sherlock.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Fact? yes. Fun? No.

The Countach should not come back - just listen to James May (or anyone else) review the thing. It's difficult to drive and impossible to live with.

My point is that it never left, Lamborghini just renamed it when they redesigned it. Miura-Countach-Diablo-Murcielago-Aventador.

I think that when it became the Gallardo, it was then driveable and more accessible. But that's just me - have never driven a Lambo, but hope the Gallardo is the first one.

You're really losing me. The Gallardo didn't replace anything, and it's a V10. The flagship mid-engined V12 Lambos are directly related to each other. Hell, until the Aventador, they used the same engine.

Also:

250 California (why, other than "it looks good")

Fairlane (again, why)

Golf Cabriolet (already brought back in 2011 and still in production, also as GTI and R)

Kinja'd!!!

7th gen Celica

Geo Metro convertible

Cutlass Ciera (seriously)

Corvair (nothing wrong with bringing back the Covair, but no real reason either, other than "LS-powered 4-door 911... or Beetle")

There's a few things wrong. Let's start with "They already had a hit with the Eos". On what planet was the Eos a hit? Because it sure wasn't this one.

The world does not need another Geo Metro convertible. If you want a car that will fold-up like a can of beer in an accident, go find any unibody vehicle with rusted out rocker panels.

The one that I find the most bizarre is the Olds Cutlass Sierra. I love me some Oldsmobile, but the Sierra? We already have a Sierra, its called the Chevy Malibu.

The egregious ommision is one or both of these:

I will give a hardy right on to #1, the El Camino.

Lincoln Continental. That deserves a spot on this list. And take the Celica off. FWD sports car just never quite seemed right to me.

Ones I certainly agree with:

- Honda Prelude: Definitely bring this back.

Either stretch the Civic platform or shrink the Accord platform so it fits in-between the two, give it a sportier suspension (maybe the 'amplitude reactive' dampers from the Acura ILX), make a turbo I-4 standard, with either the new Civic Type-R's engine or the Accord's V6 as optional.

- Ford Fairlane

How to do this right? Use the Mustang plaftorm and make SWB and LWB sedan/wagon/ute versions with it. Basically, a new Mustang based Falcon, Falcon Utility, and Fairlane for not just Australia/New Zealand, but a global car.

- Dodge Daytona IROC

No Daytona in the name this time, leave that to the Charger. Dodge could use a good turbocharged coupe, though. Simply call it IROC and slot it below the Challenger. Base it off of the LWB Compact Wide platform (Dart/Cherokee/200), but built as a coupe instead of a sedan.

1.4 MultiAir turbo as standard, turbocharged 2.4 Tigershark as an R/T, and a slightly more powerful version of that engine as the SRT.

- Honda Civic Del Sol

This shouldn't be too hard. Just make a different looking targa top based on the Civic coupe and make the Si engine the only one available.

- Isuzu Amigo

Easy. Two door convertible version of the Isuzu MU-X .

- Geo Metro Convertible

Another easy one, just turn a Chevrolet Spark or Sonic into a 2-door convertible and call it the Spark/Sonic Metro.

- Cadillac Coupe deVille

CT6 coupe, of course.

- DeLorean DMC-12

Stainless steel body on aluminum frame that's based directly on the original design, modern turbo 4 and V6 power with advanced modern transmissions. Looks exactly like the original on the outside, but modern inside.

- Mitsubishi 3000GT

New chassis, new body, with updated and more powerful versions of the 4 and 6 cylinder engines found in the Outlander (imagine a twin-turbo version of the 6B31 in a Mitsubishi coupe).

- Fiat 124 Sport Spider

Already on it's way, based on the Miata.

- Acura Integra

ILX coupe.

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

Not sure how it could be done as a whole, but the engine could be a turbocharged hybrid version of the Outlander's 4J12 inline 4.

- Chevrolet El Camino

Alpha platform. The next Camaro is going to use it, so why not use it for an El Camino as well?

Stick the same engines that the Camaro gets under the hood, and ship it to Australia as a Holden Ute as well.

Other than the Pacer? Are you an idiot? The Pacer should be number 1 on that list. Other than the Pacer, the only good ideas on that list are the Ferrari and El Camino.

The answer to the second question? Probably 'yes'. But I don't think the Pacer deserves another shot. El Camino? Yeah, sell the Maloo here - GM makes it. The Prelude? Definitely.

You're right - they sold a shit-ton of Cieras - my mom had one. Replaced it with a Malibu - the perfect grandma car. In '98, when we bought it, there was a Cutlass-badged version of the car. She rejected it - more money for a different badge and couple options she didn't care about, like a cassette player.

My dad thought about buying one of those Cutlasses. My mom wanted an Intrigue. He bought a used '95 Aurora instead. That was a huge mistake, should've bought the Intrigue.

I always like the Aurora - both gens. Unreliable?

Extremely unreliable. Mom finally had enough when it broke down on vacation. For the first time ever, she took over and picked out a vehicle, and handled the negotiations. Traded it in in Clearwater, FL for a new '01 Brazada. She was a way better negotiator than dad :)
